Pumpkin season!

I love the fall because it always gets me in the mood for pumpkin recipes! Today I made 2 pumpkin recipes. Pumpkin pasta and pumpkin spice cookies. The pasta was very simple yet very tasty....I added turkey sausage and it was delicious. I like that you can really taste the pumpkin, it's been my experience that most of the time you don't really taste the pumpkin, in this recipe you do. And the cookies...you could make these things in your sleep..so good, just don't forget the cream cheese frosting! I think next I will make pumpkin enchiladas! Happy pumpkin eating!

Harper is into saying hi to everyone and everything right now. "Hi car, hi light, hi Gibson" and when we are public she is enjoying saying hi to strangers as well, most people get smile out of that. In this picture I told her to say "hi daddy". This girl cracks me up!

It's back!

The Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas tree is back!!! This year we are parking it in Harper's room so she can enjoy it every day! We decorated it this morning and the Christmas lights brought the biggest smile to her face...she didn't care as much about the decorations ;-) Yippee, the holidays are officially here!!!

Thanks Great Aunt Judy for my ballet slippers...I love them and they are going to go perfectly with my Halloween costume! And this is my new favorite hat, I kinda like it too!

Baked Ziti

I tried a new recipe for dinner that I really liked. It was super easy and quick to prepare and very delicious! I also added frozen artichokes that I defrosted but you could really add whatever you wanted. It was also toddler approved, Harper ate an entire plate of it! Enjoy!

The "cry loud" part is very accurate!!!

Pot Roast & Chocolate Cake!

It was a cooking day of firsts yesterday for me! I was inspired by the Pioneer Woman to make my first pot roast...she always makes everything look so delicious and easy so I decided to go for it! Until recently I didn't eat red meat but I have been gradually adding it back into my diet and I am actually enjoying it! After 3 hours simmering in the dutch oven it was ready and came out fabulous! Paired with mashed potatoes it was a perfect meal! But I didn't stop there, my sweet tooth was talking to me so I decided to try making a chocolate cake in the crock pot...wow...warm cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, I was in heaven!!!

ABC's!

While at a Target shopping trip today I picked up some foam letters and numbers that Harper can play with in the bathtub...she recently has been really having fun singing the ABC song with me in the car so I thought this would be some good reinforcement for her! She can't say all of the ABC's in a row yet but she says them in bits and pieces, I am still pretty impressed!
