Dance party for one!

4th of July...almost!

Thanks Grandma Lucas for my cute 4th of July swim suit...I wore it to the splash pad today!!

Artist in the making?

We were hanging at a friend's house the other night and I couldn't pull H away from the art table...maybe H is going to follow in Grandma Lucas's footsteps and be an artist too!!! First step, get her to not eat the crayons and markers and not do art on herself...we will try and tackle that one first before I find an art school to enroll her in!

Texas girl!

This afternoon when Harper and I were hanging out at the house she brought me her cute pink cowboy boots that are 3 sizes too big for her and insisted I put them on her! After I put them on her she just stood there and looked at me and said "stuck"...she didn't know how to walk in them, it was hilarious! She eventually made her way around in them but I was loving her in these boots! She is such a silly girl!

Last day of swim lessons

Today was our last day of swim lessons...Harper and her buddy Coop passed with flying colors! ;) To sum up the experience I would say it was a great and inexpensive way(gotta love City of Austin prices!)to introduce a little kiddo to the water! Harper learned to move her arms, kick her legs, blow bubbles, float on her back, jump in the water to Mommy and she even survived her first water "dunk" with out crying! Yep, I think I have a water baby on my hands!

An afternoon away!

Mama headed about an hour out of town to the Fredericksburg area to check out a few wineries on Saturday afternoon in honor of her friend T's Bday! It was a wonderful silent drive out of town...and I do mean silent, I drove the whole way in complete silence and pretty much zoned out, it was lovely!! I met up with the gang at Becker Winery where we made friends with a cool old guy who orchestrated a great tasting for the girls and added a few freebies in too! ;) Next we were off to Lost Creek where unfortunately the experience wasn't as nice but after G justifiably complained about the service we scored a refund on the tasting and two free bottles of wine! We sat outside for awhile under a big oak tree with a beautiful breeze overlooking the vineyard and laughed and chatted like girls do! It was a bummer I couldn't participate with the drinking (although I did have a few sips here and there) but just being with my girls made for a perfect afternoon!!! Happy Birthday T!!!

Where's the water???

Well it's been summer in Austin since April I think...and now the 100's have already hit us and I don't see them going away anytime soon!!! So what does that mean, where is the water??? If we are going to be outside we must be in or near water so that's what we have been doing! We started swim lessons on Monday and have 4 more lessons next week. So far we have learned to kick, move our arms, put our face in the water and blow bubbles! Harper also learned 2 new words on her first day of class, kick and shark! Other then swim lessons we have made some pool visits and we have tried out a couple splash pads...and of course we go to the lake almost every weekend! Hello summer!!!

Backyard pool time!

We finally got around to filling up the pool so Harper could test it out after dinner one night this week. She wasn't so sure about it...when Daddy warmed up the water a bit that helped out but she was still not really that into it. Both Daddy and I got in to try and make her more comfortable...oh, and Jack went in too! ;) I am sure she will eventually like it, we will just keep trying!
